John 12:1-11
Selected word
Verses 3,7-8
A title
Serving the Lord with my precious things at this time when I can serve the Lord

3
Then Mary took about a pint of pure nard, an expensive perfume; she poured it on Jesus' feet and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.
7
"Leave her alone," Jesus replied. " It was intended that she should save this perfume for the day of my burial.
8
You will always have the poor among you, but you will not always have me."

Mary washed her Jesus' feet with her own hair with her extremely expensive perfume.
She served Jesus as Mary thought she was the most valuable she could give.
It may be because of gratitude for saving Lazarus, or it may be that she knows that Jesus is going to the suffering of the cross and serves it.

Whatever it is, Mary found her best opportunity to serve Jesus.
And Mary served Jesus by giving her the most precious thing she could offer.

But Judas Iscariot was a thief looking for the best opportunity to betray Jesus.
Judas Iscariot He criticized her for Mary's actions.
Judas Iscariot, looking for an opportunity to betray Jesus, and Mary, looking for an opportunity to serve Jesus, are very contrasting.
Jesus said her service of Mary, "Let this be made for my burial day, the poor will always be with you, and I will not always be."
Jesus must bear the cross in the flesh, so he must go away soon.
At the time when she could serve Jesus, who came in her flesh, Mary served Jesus as her own and her most valuable thing.

Jesus said to celebrate these things. (Mark 14:9)

As we learned in today’s passage,
At this time when you can serve Jesus, you will want to become a person who serves Jesus.
If I can serve Jesus with the perfume I have, I will serve Jesus,
If I can serve Jesus with my own strength, I will serve Jesus,
With my time, money, wealth, power, faith, labor, effort, service, and sharing of the Word, I will pray to become a servant of Jesus at this time.
Most of all, we want us to glorify the Lord as a holy living sacrifice (Romans 12:1) who serves Jesus and to be the ones who represent Jesus.
I pray that I will find opportunities to serve Jesus in my circumstances and circumstances, give glory to God, and live a life that exalts the name of Jesus.
